Here’s What’s Happening in February 2026! (Hint: Everything)
Make Note of These Dates Coming Up
February is saturated with purple, red, pink and more:
With a birthstone of rich, royal Amethyst; a birth flower of Violets and Primroses; and a gorgeous Parrot as the Bird of the Month - there’s more than just red and pink happening now.
As you probably know February 2nd is Groundhog Day, and it’s a big deal for small town retailers. It’s often a day that smaller boutiques open back up after closing for the month of January. Many small towns host parades, special sales, and fun regional events that are great for you as a brand to support.
February 6th is also Wear Red Day, sponsored by the American Heart Association it’s a day that is intended to bring awareness to heart health. Wear Red Day kicks off American Heart Health Month. This is significant if your brand is focused on wellness, or offers anything in the shade of red (like a lip color).
A big gifty block of love occurs in the middle of the month: The happy pairing of Galentine’s Day and Valentine’s Day arrive on February 13th and 14th respectively. Galentine’s Day is a day specifically created by the mythical character Leslie Knope from the hit NBC show Parks & Rec. What started as a lark has become a full throated holiday (especially online) as a means of celebrating friendships. And of course, the guys are in on the fun now too with Malentine’s Day on February 12th in which it’s suggested that guys get together and do something fun like go paintballing, beer biking, or karting.
Mardi Gras is on February 17th, and the same day Chinese (Lunar) New Year February 17th has the sign of the Fire Horse coming into our energy centers.
The Super Bowl is on February 8th, with a Halftime Show featuring Bad Bunny; and the Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy kick off on February 6th.
For activist brands here are some dates to make note of:
